70 years of marriage article
70 years of marriage was an article on Perth news now website\
Bill (96) and Dot (91) meet at a ball in Perth, Australia and after only knowing each other for 6 weeks they were engaged to be married.
I agree with the author of this article. Maria Noakes has written this article on a happy note that makes you want to smile. She started off with the past, leading to the present. Telling us about how they met, when they met and the opinion of Dot. Maria has also linked the article to the coming up event ‘valentines day’. I agree on the way she has set out this article, only giving necessary information. Maria has told us that Bill and Dot Robertson have received letters from Queen Elizabeth and Governor General Quentin Bryce. I do think that telling us that Dot and Bill moved to a rice farm, then to New South Wales and back to Perth was unnecessary, though it does tell us more about Dot and Bill’s life. Maria tells us that Bill was recruited for the war. I thought that that was an important fact as it tells us that Bill was an ANZAC and all ANZAC’s are appreciated, as they risked their lives to give us the world we have today.
All together I agree with the way Maria Noakes had written this article and I wish Dot and Bill Robertson all the best.

Dot and Bill on there
wedding day 70 years ago.
Thanks
